A letter from the founding team

A better connection. For the conversational web.

The internet is getting a new front door.

Instead of opening ten tabs, we’re asking a question. We’re describing what we need, working through an idea, or looking for a little help with the next decision. Discovery is becoming a conversation.

We think that changes what advertising should be.

For too long, an ad has been something to get past. A box competing for attention. A break in what you came to do. Moving that same experience into a conversation would be a missed opportunity.

A useful recommendation feels different. It arrives when there’s a reason for it. It gives you something relevant to consider. And it leaves the decision with you.

That’s the idea behind Jolts.

We’re building the connection between advertisers and AI publishers. Brands need a way to reach people as they research, compare and choose. Publishers need a way to fund their apps without putting every conversation behind a subscription. Relevant, clearly labelled advertising can serve both.

That could mean a product that fits the question, a few options worth comparing, or an invitation to share feedback. The placement belongs in the experience only when it adds something worth considering.

The answer should still be the answer. Advertising should be clearly labelled. And when there isn’t a useful match, the conversation should carry on without an ad.

These are the choices we want to build around. Not because they make a better pitch, but because trust is what makes a conversation worth having in the first place.

We’re at the beginning. We’re building, listening, and working out the details with the people who will use this. We don’t have years of results to point to. We have a conviction about what deserves to exist—and a lot of work ahead of us.

If you’re building an AI app, or you believe your brand has something useful to bring to the conversation, we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s make the next step a good one.
